"We own a large property in Bridgewater, Ct which was in desperate need of complete remodeling. As “weekenders” we were doubly concerned facing this task because we would be available only on weekends to monitor the project and make the multitude of decisions that a $2 million job entails. As a “boutique” contractor, Hammersmith takes on only one major job at a time. Hence, Glen was on site virtually every day of this 18 month job.

"To Whom It may Concern:
I am writing this letter to commend the work of Glen Hochstetter and Hammersmith, Inc. Mr. Hochstetter renovated two homes for us in Ridgefield, CT. The first home was built in 1978 and the second one was built in 1987.

He was involved in every aspect of both projects which included working with the architects, interior designers, landscape artists and many more. He gave us a fair estimate for the cost of the job and completed it in a reasonable period of time. Glen is a troubleshooter and a problem solver. He is innovative, creative and extremely detail-oriented.

My husband spotted an interesting window in New York City and asked Glen if he could replicate it. Glen found a way to do so and it turned out to be an architectural work of art. This unique contemporary home was photographed and featured in Interior Design magazine in 1987.

Glen was also the contractor for our second home, which in contrast, was a traditional style. My husband and I were very pleased with outcome of this home as well.

We have known Glen Hochstetter for over 20 years and consider him a friend. He has an extraordinarily calm demeanor and always tries his best to accommodate the needs of his clients. He is a superior contractor, honest and trustworthy. His workers arrived on time, cleaned up before they left and were extremely courteous.

"Many people when you tell them you are renovating speak to you of what a harrowing experience it was for them.

For Michael and myself, this is the 2nd time we have used Hammersmith, Inc. We knew nothing about building in 2003 when we wanted our master bedroom to be moved onto the main floor. With plans in hand we began an adventure.

Hammersmith, Inc. surrounds themselves with subcontractors who built my grandson a tool kit and hung his swing. These men become like family and they work together as a well-oiled team.
In 2008 we demolished a kitchen and began our present renovation. There are so many more choices in materials and design since 2003. But again, we are working together and yes, having fun to make our dreams happen.
